● Sand filter operating principle:
The sand filter removes tiny impurities from the pool water using special filter sand. The filter sand, acting as the impurity removal medium, is filled in the chamber inside the filter. When the control knob is turned to the "FILTER" position, pool water containing suspended impurity particles is pumped into the filtration device and then guided by the control switch to the filter outlet. The pool water passes through the filter, and tiny impurities are captured and filtered out by the sand bed. The filtered clean water returns to the pool from the bottom of the filter via the control switch and then through the pipes. This entire process is continuous and automatic, providing a complete circulation process for the filter and piping system. After a period of use, the accumulated impurities in the sand filter obstruct the water flow, weakening it. At this time, the filter needs to be cleaned.
For example, when the control switch is turned to the "BACKWASH" position, the water flow reverses, directly reaching the bottom of the filter chamber. Then, it flows back up through the sand layer, flushing up previously captured impurities and residue, which are discharged from the drain port. After each backwash, the control switch should be turned to the "RINSE" position, the water pump should be turned on for 0.5 to 1 minute and then turned off, and then turned to the "FILTER" position to restart normal filtration. 。
