How to determine the quality of swimming pool water

Look: From 15 meters away, the water in a 1.5-meter-deep swimming pool should be crystal clear. Standing on either side of the pool, the fourth and fifth lane lines should be clearly visible (high-quality pool water is crystal clear from 15 meters away). The residual chlorine content is normal; in pools with high-quality water, a pool with white porcelain tiles will appear light blue, while a pool with light blue tiles will appear dark blue.

Smell: A clean pool has a slight medicinal odor. Smell the pool water near the surface; a slight medicinal smell indicates that the pool is clean and the disinfectant has been properly applied; if there is a strong smell of urine or a pungent "bleach" smell, it is best not to enter the water. Excessive chlorine can irritate the skin and mucous membranes.

Touch: If the water feels rough, the water quality is poor. The water temperature in an indoor swimming pool should be between 22℃ and 26℃. If the water feels "soft" when you enter, the water quality is good; if it feels "hard" or "rough," or if you experience itching or pain, the water quality is poor. Additionally, when entering the pool, step on the pool tiles; if they are slippery, the water quality may be problematic.
