What is the most suitable age for a child to learn swimming?

There are two approaches to "learning to swim." One is to not focus on swimming strokes initially; it's enough if the child enjoys playing in the water.

The other is to directly learn a swimming stroke.

1. For directly learning a swimming stroke, how old should the child be? Swimming training classes usually stipulate 6 years old and above, as children of this age generally meet the standards in terms of comprehension, expression, and reaction speed. Furthermore, swimming training classes have many people and require a high level of discipline, which is difficult for younger children to manage.

2. At what age can a child start playing in the water? Bathing starts from birth... bathing itself is a form of playing in the water. A larger, taller bathtub can be chosen, with the water temperature controlled at around 32 to 36℃. Parents should carefully observe the child's reaction, and each water play session should not be too long; it can start with 10 minutes, 15 minutes, and then adjusted according to the child's actual situation. Families with the resources can take their children to a professional baby swimming center, where there are professionally trained instructors, and parents can also accompany their children to play in the water.

When the child gets a little older, they can be taken to the swimming pool to play in the summer.
