World Aquatics Championships

The FINA World Championships is the highest-level major international swimming competition organized by World Aquatics (formerly FINA). The first World Aquatics Championships was held in 1973. Between 1978 and 1998, the frequency of the event varied, but since 2001, it has been held every two years.

Except for synchronized swimming, which is a women's event, all other events include both men's and women's competitions. Diving (10 events)

- Individual diving: 1-meter springboard (non-Olympic event), 3-meter springboard, 10-meter platform

- Synchronized diving: 3-meter springboard, 10-meter platform. Swimming (42 events)

- Backstroke: 50m (non-Olympic event), 100m, 200m

- Breaststroke: 50m (non-Olympic event), 100m, 200m

- Butterfly: 50m (non-Olympic event), 100m, 200m

- Freestyle: 50m, 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m. - Individual medley: 200m, 400m

- Freestyle relay: 4x100m (mixed gender is a non-Olympic event), 4x200m

- Medley relay: 4x100m (including mixed gender). Open water swimming (6 events)

- 5km (non-Olympic event), 10km, 25km (non-Olympic event). Synchronized swimming (7 events)

- Solo: Technical routine

Free routine - Team: Technical routine, free routine, free combination routine. Water polo (2 events) 7 players per team, including 1 goalkeeper. High diving (2 events) Men's platform height 27m, Women's platform height 18m
