Swimming pool water treatment methods
1. After filling a new pool with water, add 5 kg of copper sulfate per 1000 cubic meters of water (dissolved in 5-10 times the amount of water before adding). After adding, wait 24 hours before proceeding to the next step. This is because copper sulfate will react with disinfectants to form precipitates that stick to the magnetic tiles and gaps, making them difficult to remove. Add copper sulfate 1-2 times per month, do not exceed the amount (copper sulfate is a heavy metal and is toxic).
2. Add TCCA disinfectant; add 3-5 kg of disinfectant per 1000 cubic meters of water (double the amount for new water). When adding the medicine, it should be evenly spread and the circulation pump should be turned on. After two hours, check the residual chlorine. If the residual chlorine is below 0.5 ppm, add another 1 kg (per 1000 cubic meters of water) of disinfectant. Add disinfectant and check every day. If the residual chlorine in the swimming pool water does not meet the standard, add more disinfectant. (The new national standard is 0.2-1.0 PPM, CJ244-2007)
3. Add sodium carbonate to adjust the pH value of the swimming pool water (the pH value is best controlled between 7.4-7.6). The amount added should be such that the test kit measures 7.8-8.5 (because the result measured by the test kit is higher than the actual value). Check the pH value multiple times a day, and add sodium carbonate to adjust if it does not meet the standard (the new standard is 7.0-7.8).
4. If the swimming pool water is turbid or colored, and the turbidity of the water does not meet the standard (the problem cannot be solved by circulation and filtration), polyaluminum chloride needs to be added for adsorption treatment; it can be added through a dosing pump (the effect is slower). If the problem needs to be solved quickly, it can be added directly to the swimming pool water. The dosage is 5-8 kg per 1000 cubic meters of water. When adding polyaluminum chloride, dilute it with 10 times the amount of water, turn on the circulation pump, and evenly sprinkle it on the surface of the pool water with a spoon. After sprinkling, circulate for another 1-2 hours, then stop circulating, let it stand for 8 hours, and then remove the dirt. Note: The pH value of the pool water must be adjusted before adding, and it is best to add the medicine at night. (New standard turbidity/NTU less than 1)
5. After the sediment at the bottom of the pool is cleaned up, in order to maintain the stability of the water quality, it is best to add a water stabilizer. The stabilizer can increase the total alkalinity, and the pH value will also increase accordingly. The dosage is 50-80 kg per 1000 cubic meters of water, and the total alkalinity measured value is preferably 120-140 PPm. Add 1-2 times per month. It can be added at the same time as adjusting the pH value.
Note: A. Copper sulfate and disinfectants cannot be added at the same time. Copper sulfate cannot be added if the alkalinity is too high, otherwise copper precipitation will occur.
B. Disinfectants cannot be added at the same time as alkaline substances, otherwise the disinfection effect will be reduced.
C. When adding polyaluminum chloride, the pH value must be adjusted, otherwise the precipitation effect will not be good, and the water quality will deteriorate.
D. After adding the flocculant, remove the dirt in time, otherwise the polyaluminum chloride will float to the surface after hydrolysis.
